In a mesmerizing fantasy land, Prince Tadeus and his loyal companion are sent on a quest for Princess Elyanna from the Kingdom of Amania. A textbook fairy tale. Indeed it might be. If only appearances weren't as deceptive. Not all is well in the world where tales begin with once upon a time and under the veil of tranquility thrives a bustling domain of dark plots, treachery and perfidy. Nothing is as it seems...

The End (of November (and Almost December))

Ahoy. No, I haven't joined any pirate club. That's how we Czechs say hello (not all of the time). No, Czech's are not pirates either. Well, most of them aren't. As far as I know, we have the reputation of pot-bellied beer sponges. Quite funny, since beer and my taste buds aren't exactly the best friends.

Putting lore aside... the end of December is almost here. My NaNoWriMo novel was finished long ago. Quite an experience. Well, it might have ended, but there's still a lot to do. Editing, revising... and new projects.

NaNoWriMo and Other Avalanches

Hello again after a story pause. Thing's are pacing incredibly fast and it's hard to keep up as always. But more things are on the way. Although it's pretty quiet, I've noticed some readers and I have to say thanks to anyone who stops by and reads something here. There's still not much to behold, but it will improve with time, I'm certain.

Hello dear visitors, readers and anyone who might wander here. You've stumbled upon the website of a speculative fiction writer. My name is Petr Janecka and I welcome you here. I hope you will like this little cosy place and will keep returning, enjoying what you read, commenting and sharing words.

I hope we're off to a good start. There are stories underway, both freebies to read and links for sold stuff. Currently, I have tons on my plate, my stories buffer is overflowing with unresolved cases. There is quite a number of novellas I'm not sure what to do with, so if they don't end up sold, I'll probably be posting them here.

However, everything takes time. I'm a fast writer, especially when it comes to writing tales I love, but that, along with revisions, editing and correcting, is about 10% of what a writer really does. I won't try to even estimate, but I believe most of the 90% is actually...
